We base the cost of our home inspection services on our years of experience and how long we will spend inspecting and writing a detailed report. These are as follows:

• • Size of a property
  • Age of a property
  • Foundation type
  • Inspector’s expertise  
  • Scope of the inspection (does it include thermal imaging, radon testing, etc?)

Signs That Your Home Inspection Quote Is Cheap:

• • Home Inspection company new to business. Those who know less do less!  Those who do less miss defects.
  • The Home Inspector does more than two inspections per day. We have heard of home inspectors and large home inspection companies only spending 45 minutes at the inspection. Big Red Flag!!
  • There is a flat fee with no consideration of the size of the home
  • Home inspectors don’t have enough business. From our experience, this is because they lack the knowledge to inspect the home properly or, even worse, have a bad reputation.

What could a cheap inspection say about the inspector or home inspection business? Be wary of the following factors:

• • Because of the lack of regulations, very little capital is required to start a home inspection industry, making it very appealing to part-time or retired workers who want “a little extra money.” However, this limits their expertise, which increases the risk of an inaccurate report.
